Congratulations Angad Singh, the 2017 Music Matters winner!
Angad blew us away with his original song, “Eyes So Blue”, as he opened for Will Dailey and Brandi Carlile at our annual RiverFeast benefit concert. Through the Music Matters contest, he also won a recording session in the River Music Hall, along with a $1,500 grant towards his high school music department, thanks to our friends at Salem Five Bank.
Why Music Matters to Angad:
“Since childhood, music has been a powerful outlet for me to express myself. No matter the occasion, I always have a notebook or phone to write down any lyrics or song ideas that inspire me. Writing, playing, and recording music is a daily routine for me and goes far beyond simple entertainment. It has a cathartic effect on me that helps me escape the chaos and also connect with people at a much deeper level. I believe that music is essential because it has the power to influence and bring people together.”
