This Week’s New River Music

Check out some of the new music being featured on the River this week, including tracks by The Head and The Heart, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Twenty One Pilots, and Birds of Tokyo.

The Head and The Heart, “Another Story”, Let’s Be Still
Bio: Let’s Be Still is the sophomore album from The Head and The Heart, the follow up to their self-titled debut in 2011. “Another Story” premiered on Jimmy Kimmel Live in August, two months before the album was released on October 15th. All six members of the band contributed to the writing of the tracks.

Toad The Wet Sprocket, “The Moment”, New Constellation
Bio: New Constellation, the sixth album from Toad The Wet Sprocket, and was their first album of new music in sixteen years. They released a hits album in 1999, and a live album in 2004 but not an album of entirely new songs. The band funded the album through a kickstarter campaign that raised more than $250,000.

Twenty One Pilots, “House of Gold”, Vessel
Bio: The Columbus Ohio based duo Twenty One Pilots put out two self-released albums since their formation in 2009. Vesselis their major label debut and dropped in December of 2013. The band name comes from Arthur Miller’s play All My Sons about a man commits suicide after unintentionally causing the death of twenty one pilots in WWII.

Birds of Tokyo, “Lanterns”, March Fires
Bio: Birds of Tokyo are a five piece rock band from Perth, Australia. The group formed originally as a duo in 2004. March Firesis their fourth album and debuted on the ARIA charts at number one, marking their first number one record. March Fires was the first album not to feature founding member and bassist Anthony Jackson who left in 2011 and was replaced by Ian Berney.
