‘S Wonderful & De-Lovely: An Evening Of George Gershwin & Cole Porter
Join the Capital Jazz Orchestra Small Group and Music Director Clayton “Skip” Poole for the Sound of America Series as they pay tribute to two of America’s greatest songwriters, George Gershwin and Cole Porter. Joining the CJO Small Group for this evening of great melodies will be Cat Faulkner.
Born in Eastern Canada, Cat Faulkner was on stage with her family Gospel Quartet by the age of 8. After migrating to the Boston area the family continued performing and Cat began her love affair with the music of Gershwin, Ellington, Porter, Berlin and all of the classic American Songbook tunesmiths. For this performance Cat will bring alive the beautiful melodies and sophisticated lyrics that are part of our musical heritage as she and the Capital Jazz Orchestra honor two of the greatest composers of the early 20th Century!
