Salem Film Festival – 16 BARS at Peabody’s Black Box

March 31, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

| $14

Peabody’s Black Box will be screening Sam Bathrick’s 16 BARS as part of the Salem Film Festival!

In 16 BARS, A Richmond, Virginia jail is home to a makeshift recording studio where Grammy-winning recording artist, Todd “Speech” Thomas, collaborates with inmates in a unique rehabilitation effort that involves writing and recording their original music. It is an intimate look at how four men try to escape their cycle of recidivism by engaging in a creative process that forces them to confront painful memories from the past.

16 BARS will be playing Saturday, March 30th, and will feature a Q&A with director Sam Batherick afterwards. You can enter to win tickets from the River in our Tickets & Exclusive Offers section. Trailers, summaries, and film listings available at salemfilmfest.com.
