Saturday, February 29th, ten-time Grammy Award winning jazz vocalist Bobby McFerrin will be showcasing his talents at the Music Hall in Portsmouth!
The Manhattan native is known for his unique vocal techniques, which include scat singing, polyphonic overtone singing, and improvisational vocal percussion. He frequently collaborates with other artists from both the jazz and classical scenes, but is widely known for performing and recording regularly as an unaccompanied solo vocal artist. McFerrin followed up his No. 1 U.S. pop hit “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” in 1988 by claiming Song of the Year and Record of the Year honors at the 1989 Grammy Awards.
